This project uses secondary data analysis on existing publicly-available longitudinal datasets to elucidate developmental pathways from trauma and victimization to severe behavioral maladjustment (serious offending, incarceration, and gang involvement) among marginalized and minoritized adolescents and young adults. The project will employ the following datasets:

Study of Trauma, Resilience, Identity, and Diverse Experiences among sexual and gender minority young adults
This project focuses on past and current adversity, traumatic experiences, posttraumatic stress, and maladaptive and adaptive coping in LGBTQ+ Young Adults, also referred to as sexual and gender minority young adults. This project will employ quantitative research methods (i.e., self-report surveys).
Cultural Aspects of Partner relationships, Trauma exposure, and Underlying Resilience in Emerging adults from Latina/o/e or Hispanic
communitiesThis project aims to examine the roles of past and current adversity, traumatic experiences, and cultural factors and values on the victimization and perpetration of psychological, physical, sexual, and digital intimate partner violence (IPV) among Latina/o/e individuals during adolescence and young adulthood. This project will employ quantitative research methods (i.e., self-report surveys).
Factors Affecting the Mental health and Intergenerational trauma among LatInx fAmilies
This study aims to examine the occurrence of intergenerational trauma transmission among Latinx families, and elucidate the risk and protective factors that influence these experiences at different levels of the social ecology. This project will employ quantitative research methods (i.e., self-report surveys).
